During London’s 2020 lockdown, illustrator Cecilie Maurud Barstad observed life from her balcony in the historic Arsenal Stadium. Through vivid illustrations and poetic reflections, she captures quiet moments, everyday routines, and a shared sense of uncertainty in a world on pause. The reader is drawn into Cecilie’s back courtyard—where smells, conversations, noise, and silence blend with sunshine and rain.
This beautifully crafted bilingual (English/Norwegian) book features essays, interviews, and fifty illustrated short stories. Limited to 700 numbered copies, it is bound with a cloth spine, embossed cover, and printed on high-quality uncoated paper. Available in three distinct color variations.
Contributors: Author Benedicte Meyer Kroneberg contributes an essay, and Cecilie Maurud Barstad is interviewed by cultural writer Sondre Sommerfelt. Edited and designed by Nina Ansten, with English translations by Andrew J. Boyle.
