Ksenia is the creative director of Volver, herself designer, and works closely with both Norwegian and international artists, designers and architects. Each dialogue and process is an exploratory and unique journey. Ksenia believes in an original and intuitive design perspective that unites individual creativity, users' needs and technological opportunities. Her approach lies at the intersection of challenges and breaking with established performances, and finding unexpected expressions between the new and the known.
Purchase from Volver
"For me, design begins with a mindset, an exploration of the mind. It is a source of discoveries, surprises and insights, without boundaries. Design gives the freedom to detect unexpected topics and close to a boundless curiosity for creativity. In the studio, we are free to address any subject - anthropocene, urbanism, color theory, history, human condition, ecology ... Each new theme is revealed to the audience in its full authenticity, and hopefully it arouses a thought, a response and a feeling. ”

Craft
For the production of their handmade rugs, Volver collaborates with Indian carpet manufacturers. India's long and proud tradition of carpet production makes it possible to create the highest quality rugs, while helping to maintain and develop this beautiful cultural heritage. Volver Studio is constantly working to improve the carpet industry ethically, social and environmentally.
“My first trip to India, as a seventeen -year -old, was the start of a love story that has evolved into a continuous journey of discovery. As a designer, I have worked with Indian carpet manufacturers for 14 years. Together we work daily to renew and expand this craft tradition. ” - Ksenia Stanishevski, founder
Fibers
Volves use only natural fibers, such as New Zealand wool, fine Indian wool, silk, bamboo viscose, wool felt and jute. The quality and properties of the fibers are determined by diameter, color, strength, ripple and yield. In their palette they work with 75 types of yarn, 30 natural shades and 1200 colors. This gives them a wide creative leeway.
Process
Each carpet is a result of collaboration between designers, suppliers, craftsmen and managers. The process consists of many stages and involves several specialists throughout the value chain. Design and production go hand in hand, with physical prototyping as a central task. This ensures the best possible match between the artistic idea and the technical quality. After several rounds, the approved prototype becomes a reference for efficient and even production.
