Brave New Lines is a young design studio that follows unconventional roads to create meaningful objects for everyday life. They see value where others see limitations, and design expressive, pragmatic products with a clear purpose.

Powered by a desire to simplify, challenges Brave New Lines established norms in the design industry. They take responsibility for today's needs through sustainable production, efficient transport and transparent value chains. The products are always made of durable, locally extracted materials - and most importantly: they are designed for easy repair.

As a first exercise, the studio has explored how standardized shelf materials can be utilized in new ways. This approach allows small, local workshops to produce without large investments in special tools - while at the same time industrial waste can become a valuable resource.

Brave New Lines was founded in 2018 by Gunnar Eidsvik Tvedt (b. 1990) and Marius Angell Søvik (b. 1990) after their master's degree in industrial design at NTNU. The studio won Bet Better's Interior Design Award for Newcomers in 2022, and Eidsvik Tvedt received the DOGA Award for Newcomers in 2019 for its collaboration with Stokke on an innovative baby husk.
