The Oceanweaver is a brand created by textile artist and designer Karina Siegmund. She experiments with various techniques in weaving, tissue technology and material use, and believes that the interaction between these elements creates a unique expression and mood - inspired by nature.
Karina works from her studio on the west coast of Norway, where the sea, the coastal landscape and the life of the sea give her an endless source of inspiration. With sheep grazing freely, surfers who challenge the waves and salt water in the air, she finds silence in the face of a rich cultural heritage and old Viking stories. These elements make up the essence of her woven fiber art and design projects.
Her works bring nature closer to us. As a visual artist, she creates weaves that act as an ambassador for nature's beauty, while providing a mental sanctuary - a respite, just like in nature itself.
