Kristine Five Melvær is a Norwegian designer who works with crockery, lighting, furniture and textile objects. Her design philosophy is based on objects' communicative potential - how they can create emotional bonds between object and user.
With a free approach to materials and product categories, Melvær often moves beyond the product itself and into Art Direction and Graphic Design. Her work has been recognized with a number of awards in both disciplines.
She holds a master's degree in industrial design from the Architecture and Design College in Oslo, as well as a master's degree in visual communication from the Oslo Academy of the Arts.
