Ida siebke

Ida Siebke creates handmade glass objects and tactile sculptures to explore what it means to be human. Her glass work is locally and sustainably produced - unique, Nordic and inspired by nature.

The dream of becoming glass blowers started when she was three years old, and glass has always been her ultimate material. It keeps her focused and sharpened, while providing room for dreams and growth.

Ida's artistic starting point is always personal. By using her own feelings and experiences, she explores difficult and taboo aspects of human existence. In the studio, she translates these feelings into glass, and her work is strongly influenced by nature, travel, meetings and sensory experiences.

Early in her career, she was fascinated by the experimental and unexpected in glass art. As interest in technique became less central, she began to explore new artistic expressions and opportunities in the material.
