Guro Sommer is an independent photographer based in Oslo, with roots from Grimstad. With education from the Oslo Photo Art School, she has developed her artistic expression over the last six years.
With a passion for colors, she catches beauty and emotional depth in everyday elements. Her photographs invite the viewer to see the world through her eyes, where digital and analog media are used to create moods in interaction with architectural surroundings.
Guro is especially known for her strong portraits, where she goes deep into the individual's essence. Her ability to create a genuine connection with her motifs results in portraits with both authenticity and depth.
For the past three years she has been a central part of Gem Studio on Grünerløkka, which she founded in 2021 with photographer Emma Sukalic and film director Maren Klakegg, an important step in her career.
