Ayla Gürsoy is a furniture designer based in Bergen. Her work explores the interaction between form, materials and humans. Powered by curiosity and sense of detail, she uses physical prototyping as her most important tool in the design process. The result is functional, clean, yet bold aesthetic expressions.
Ayla works in several design fields. She is in the process of building her own studio and establishes Ytre Studio with two other designers from Bergen. In addition, she works as an interior stylist at Heem Bergen. The design trio Ytre recently won the design competition from Fram Oslo X crafts plus in Oslo. Ayla is currently taking a master's degree in furniture and space design at the University of Bergen.
